Please reach us at info@seeagency.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our roster is home to seasoned, pedigreed, unique speakers who are truly some of the most capable presenters in the world. When a speaker who fits that description crosses our path, we get excited to learn more and explore if there is a mutual fit.
The first step in finding that answer is to ask a prospective speaker "For what are you the FIRST, MOST, ONLY & BEST"? Having that answer will help us get a sense of potential fit and readiness.
Jeff Bezos once said, "I'd rather interview 50 people and not hire anyone than hire the wrong person."
When asked how many speakers we aim to have on our roster, the answer is always the same: just the right ones.
Every member of our roster has the potential to synergize - or cannibalize - the ecosystem in which they exist. The introduction of a new speaker needs to bring strength to the other members of the roster.
And because "A rising tide lifts all boats", the tide will rise for everyone!
A common phrase we hear when speakers contact us about representation expresses their desire to take their speaking business 'to the next level'.
Contrary to popular belief, Speaker Management/Agency representation isn't the ticket to the next level.
In general - and there are (many) exceptions - great managers represent talent who need a professional manager partnership to maintain and continue increasing their booking momentum.
What are these levels of which we speak?
LEVEL ONE: Emerging speakers that have a story and a speech that resonates with the market. Speaking more is the goal, bookings are still sparse. This level is best-served by professionals who dedicate their expertise to getting them market-ready. There are several great ones out there! You don't have to look far to find one.
LEVEL TWO: Working speakers with big dreams and bigger hustle. Buzz, exposure, and popularity are on the rise at this level. The phone is starting to ring from word-of-mouth referrals and it's probably time to quit the day-job. Speaking fee has a comma in it.
LEVEL THREE: Full-time speakers with a respectable calendar, a clear brand identity and bureau attention. Speaking fee has a comma AND 5 figures.
LEVEL FOUR: Busy speakers with enough airmiles to circumnavigate the earth. A robust calendar with buyers competing for open dates. Byline includes Best Selling Author and Featured On/In/By. One speaking fee could buy a compact car.
LEVEL FIVE: This is the Penthouse Suite and everything that comes with it. One speaking fee buys a plot of land in rural Iowa (if you're into that sort of thing).
The best managers and agents come alongside motivated, busy speakers who are hustling and striving for constant improvement in all ways.
The speaker's leveling-up process is well underway.
Force multiplier is a military term that refers to a combination of factors that helps accomplish greater feats than without it.
Hiring a great Speaker Manager/Agency is a force multiplier.
Everyone goes further faster.
And that includes going to the next level.
